Andre Harrell died today, no doubt upstaged by Little Richard’s passing. Both were essentially influential in their own ways. During my stint as a medical student, Harrell’s hands were on everything that was peaking with New Jack Swing in the early 1990s. Billboard has the essential top ten playlist that essentially embodies the Uptown Records founder and tastemaker. RIP.😞
